Seriously.
What causes the damage when the phone gets wet?
For the water itself to cause substantial damage - takes time, it also depends on the chemical quality (ph) of the water. The number one cause for lasting damage is the battery+water: the process of electrolysis very quickly can result in erosion components and contacts and unrepearable damage.

Therefore, the most important step is to take the battery out as fast as you can and then shake as much water out as you can. (I am not sure though if cell phones have clock batteries like P{Cs have.)

Burying the phone iin uncooked rice a great way to get rid of the moisture. Another way is to put the wet phone next to an exhaust fan of a desktop computer for a few hours.

We put it in rice, its boots up fine and everything seems to work, except for the touchscreen which is completely buggered. The water sticker wasnt affected so it looks just like a screen fail....do you think Verizon will replace it?

Yea they will replace as long as you mention nothing about water and what color is the sticker cuz mine is Pink

Normally i think it's a light pink white color when you first get the eris
and when I dropped mine in the toilet it turned a dark kind of reddish-pink color
and that's how they know you dropped it in water

Ohh and the water Bricked the phone because all it does is boot in loops even after loading another immage lol. the screen isnt that bright and has little streaks running through it. Ugh maybe this is a good thing because the next eris I get im not goin to any 2.1 leak im just going to stay at 1.5

Even though 2.1 was so nice with the widgets for the 2.x operating system and being able to get a little bit more battery and a better signal at my house

Yeah I do...I have the eris and pre plus and I Switch back and forth every few days cuz the eris annoys me sometimes

I think the pre is a really nice phone

the only thing I hate is

1)Lack of apps(I saw smacky's thread on this game replica island and I'm such a girlie girl but I got to say Android has turned me into a gamer but Pre has some 3d games I MIGHT...MIGHT check out

However, if your a power facebook user like myself...I swear besides Apple and maybe blackberry, Pre's new facebook app is the sh*t

2)The Camera on the Pre is only 3 megapixels vs 5 but it has a flash and to be honest, I don't like how grainy my pics on my eris look

I actually think the pre and the way it does email does GMAIL better then any android phone i've seen imho

Yes, but Palm is going out of business about three days after you purchase yours. The phone will go dead then and the battery will either melt or explode depending on how fully charged it is.

I'm only funnin' ya, Carmen. I like the Palm Pre Plus enough to grab my friend's every chance I get and play around with it. I like the keyboard on her's, but I have handled some that were more flimsy, making the device seem cheaply built.

Quality control at the factories, I guess.
