Eris will Not be getting 2.1, That's it

Those should be proof enough that 2.1 will indeed be released for the eris. As a few others have already pointed out, it's highly unlikely that HTC and/or Verizon would go through the trouble of coming up with a ROM, and testing different builds of it just to throw it away. Yes, these roms are officially signed, and it's quite well known/documented that signatures of this type can't be forged or faked.

So now, where is YOUR evidence to support your theory of 2.1 NOT coming? A "source" at Verizon and the fact that they've gone a week over the original projected release date is far from proof. Anyone that knows anything about any type of software knows that initial projections are often optimistic and rarely, if ever met.

What's interesting is that you use that word to try to make yourself out not to be the bad guy. You came in here just spouting out things that, yes, no one wanted to hear, but they are not necessarily valid. No one wants to hear that the world is coming to an end either, but that doesn't mean it is correct, or an intelligent thing to say. You have absolutely NO proof of anything you said, and while there may not be solid evidence to the contrary, that in no way makes you correct.

You're trying to get a reaction out of people while venting your frustration with your phone. Yeah, no one knows you, which is why I'm not personally attacking you, but you are trying to make yourself out to be the bearer of bad news with inside knowledge. You are just trying to speak for the people... Sort of like Glenn Beck. I'm not going to attack you personally, but in this forum, "Evil Sports", not you, whatever your name is, is behaving like a child in need of attention.

I wish someone would put this thread out of its misery. We all just keep coming back to it to hear what tihs guy has to say for shock value and to be argumentative... cough cough... FOX News... cough cough...

Tell me when you will have an official 2.1 for our phone.
No one can prove anything on the internet until its actually in your hands. So until my phone says 2.1 then my sources, my speculation,and my opinion is just as valid as this update that No can seem to put their hands on, or actually tell me WHEN they will have it.
Why is that trolling

nope. the simple fact that someone made a statement that every time in history has generated a emotional response, and they pretended not to know that it would this time, is, either insanity or deceitful behavior. I don't like interacting with either.

I would say the Eris already has 2.1, or at least mine and the others who loaded the leak version do. It runs absolutely great! I have now issues with it. I have better apps now, everything is running smoother, and I can now get voice turn by turn navigation. If the official OTA update ends up being canceled then no big deal, I could just root or somehow find a way to use my insurance and upgrade to the Incredible.

There is no reason to get into "he said, they said". If it comes out, it comes out and if it doesn't it doesn't. Either way I am happy with the phone and 2.1.
 
Open wide troll. I have a fresh bucket of slop. My phone shows 2.1 and its great. If you want 2.1, just take it. If you want to wait and complain about waiting, then wait.
 
My source just confirmed that VZW has gone bankrupt, and will be nonexistent by the end of the month. Problem solved. Nobody needs to worry about phones or their updates anymore.
 
I'd just like to add that when I went to the Verizon store, the "demo" eris had 2.1 on it. If that isn't proof then I don't know what is... Just thought I'd throw that out there :P
 
Hey guys and gals. I am Verizon. I can confirm that this thread sucks. Also, people who make threads like this are screaming for attention and conflict, because they have nothing better to do.

While I do like the occasional joke topic, I am furious that this person insinuates that he knows me or sources inside my realm.

i keep reading this thread, and then looking at my Eris with 2.1 already on it, and laughing.. Because someone seems awfully convinced that 2.1 will not work on the Eris.. which, in my honest opinion, deserves a nice swift slap in the face... If you are truly this ignorant, please do us all a favor and kill yoself!

HTC and Verizon did NOT get together to conspire against the people who bought the Eris... the HTC employee that leaked the 2.1 ROM more than likely did NOT make it himself... It seems pretty official to me... and I'm pretty sure the CEO of HTC did NOT announce the eris and hero being updated to 2.1, just to give everyone false hope and be a douche...
But to the OP, everyone one is a lying douche.. sounds like some childhood mommy/daddy problems resurfacing at this extremely pivotal time of angst, waiting for the update!!

The only value this thread has left to offer is as a place for people to blow off steam (and to amuse the rest of us).

The foks who actually aren't trolling aren't going to change their minds at this point, which means this thread is probably pretty darn close to being locked.
