Eris working in other countries?

Hey forum! Im a new member here at the forum...

I had one doubt, I acquired the Eris a few months ago and I love the phone and all it provides to me (first smartphone I ever owned).

However Im about to move out of the country due to business and I would like to know if my Eris will work.

Im moving to south america and they have GSM and CDMA carriers, so again, will my Eris work, even though is from Verizon?

Unfortunately, if your phone is a Verizon phone and not a generic, unlocked phone, you are stuck with using Verizon overseas. Very expensive. The other option would be to "jail break" the phone to render it unlocked. There are gurus on this forum working on that, but for many of us, that might be too difficult a task.
