Help Erratic switching between 3G/HSPA

Just got my One S a couple of days ago, came from a Voda Desire S. Got the phone from Carphone Warehouse as I wanted unbranded (for faster updates, hopefully less buggy firmware etc)

I dont know if this is an issue or not but the phone seems to constantly switch between 3G/HSPA. It can switch 5 or 6 times in a minute and pages allways stop loading between switches. FYI the Desire S would occasionally switch to 3G on the same bus route but very rarely.

What network are you on? i have constant issues with the T mobile signal where it trys to go onto smart signal and go to T Mobile/Orange, which is basically shitty 2g. But the phone constantly moving between networks i rarely get more that 2 bars on either and it also drains my battery

Vodafone. Battery drain is another concern

T-Mobile-Orange is combined 3G now, if that helps.
