Help error (140) bootloader version error please help!!

Hi there

Have a Htc Desire which was originally on the Orange network but recently unlocked it to T-mobile(uk).
I now am in the process of debranding it but have hit a glitch.
Have successfully made a gold card which is still inside the phone.
Only problem i have is that when trying to replace/update the rom via a RUU file i get the following error above (140 bootloader version error).:confused:
I think the error maybe caused by following an old tutorial as my current image is 2.17.61.3 and the one i am using is RUU Bravo HTC Europe 1.15.405.3 Radio_32.30.00.28U 4.05.00.11 Release 121865.

Can someone point me in the right direction on what correct files i need so that i am still running the latest files.:confused:
Is it Froyo if so can you link me to where i can find it.

RUUs can't go backwards. The RUU you are using is android 2.1.

Assuming you already made a goldcard, you should download 2.29.405.5 which is available via the toolbox link in my Signature.

Maybe worth taking the sim out on an orange desire, as the original software on orange devices is dodgy
 
Hi there managed to debrand it only problem is i can get on internet to download apps but i cant make or receive calls!
All it says is a womens voice saying "calls are currently not being connected to this number"
Has this phone been blocked somehow.
It was originally bought from Ebay could it have been blocked or something?
If so is there anyway round it.
The sim works fine in other phone perfectly!
Any help would be much appreciated.

What do you mean by this? :confused:

I have the sim(orange) that was in the phone originally but now i am using T-mobile so am using another.

Is there something wrong with the goldcard and if so how can you tell?

Desperate for some advice.

can you or someone else please explain what you mean as i am new to all of this.:confused:
Is the phone blocked or something or have i done something wrong?

My HTC rencently has been coming up on the screen to reboot my phone. also it will just turn itselfs off when it feels like it.

Seriously?

Take the sim card out before running the RUU
 
Orange phones do this sometimes. Sim lock that is. Try running the RUU again?

Maybe Change the thread title to "unbranding orange issues" or something as I've no direct experience with this issue.

Other things if you used a code, try re entering it, or use the sim unlock utility in the toolbox thread linked in my Sig
