Root Error 155 using HTC Rom Utility

Almost, but nothing is easy. My phone is locked and the way I unlocked it was thru HTC website.

I stuck here.
fastboot devices check connectivity -all checked well.

fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin re-unlock error Cannot load 'Unlock_code.bin

I don't have the file in adb. Is there one?
found Unlock_code.bin and moved it to the mini folder! I'm getting the hang of this. Too bad I couldn't write the code.

like the first time,on your phone select yes to unlock.your phone will reboot.

Phone is rooted. I'll check my contacts now. Do you have a paypal account?

if its not there, you will need to place it there. it should still be either in your email,or in whatever adb/fastboot folkder you used to unlock(if you followed htcdev instructions,i believe they say call it "android")

if you for some reason you do not have your original unlock_code.bin,then im afraid i have bad news: youll have to upgrade back to gingerbread,re-unlock,and make sure to keep that .bin file,as you need it on froyo.

you cannot use htcdev to get a new token on froyo due to the mismatched baseband, and you cant change the baseband because its s-on :(

Scotty,
Did you write the code to this? I was a little rusty since i haven't had to follow these intense instructions but my phone is all set.
I want to personally Thank You and Sdrawkcab25 for your support getting through this.
Please send me a link to your paypal account to fratan@verizon.net

HTC and Verizon was useless in helping me since July 6, 2012.:D

So you got everything worked out? Good to hear :)

Sdrawkcab25,
Thanks for helping last night....Scotty took it over this morning and after a few questions we were able to get the job done. I'm always impressed with the special people that have the ability to code. Send me a donations button.

awsome! glad you got it.

if youre refering to the sticky guide,i did put it together, but i didnt come up with all the code. i have a basic understanding of how adb/fastboot commands work, but as much as id like to i cant take credit for flash image,or some of the other bits that allow it to happen.

im definately glad it worked for you. your phone is now yours, completely! :smokingsomb:

Nice jon deciphering the info and solving the problem that HTC/Verizon put out for users like me. I told them that I would reach out to the community and they said go luck your on your own. You guys won the gold medal as far as I'm concerned.:p

Verizon and HTC are trying to send me an update on my software change from yesterday. Do you know anything about this? The version is 4.08 I didn't download the update. Any suggestions?

That's the version you were running before you started this process.

Easiest thing to do is to install a rom that has the latest software baked in.

My contacts are working again in my car which is huge. The rooted version od this update still keeps me in 2.2 correct?

No, that rom would put you back on 2.3.4, if you want to stay on 2.2 and not get nagged to install the update, you would have to modify the build.prop file.

This thread has directions:

And this post from that thread has the updated info you'd type in(post 45):

I installed Titanium backup. Should I remove Updater 2.2 to get rid of the update nag or is that for something different.
Thanks,

I wouldn't remove the updater... I would just follow the directions in the links I posted above.

Titanium is a dangerous app if not used correctly... it is recommended to buy the premium version and "freeze" unwanted apps, rather than remove them.

Thanks for the heads up. It was a little tricky using root explorer and text editor but I figured it out after a while. I wasn't sure about removing one of the inc in the line but I think its gone. The nag didn't show on my last reboot.:D
