Error backup system settings

Hi
I'm new here, as with my xperia x8 (only 1 week old).
Last week-end, I upgrade it to 2.1, and now I can't save the system settings. I haven't root my phone (yet).

I'm using the default "backup & restore" apps
Here is what I do :
"add new"
name "sys"
I only check the "system settings"
At 89%, I have a "could not backup" error.

If I backup everything except the "system settings", there is no error.

So.. anyone with the same problem ? any solution ? (I think I will have too root it)

Did you download the new backup and restore app as the old one that came pre-installed with your phone doesn't work on the new 2.1.

I though the app was with the system.
I'm trying with other app now.

Yes, it seems that was the problem.. (so simple... but why not put a default "save & restore" app...)

The upgrade screen on PC Companion or SEUS is supposed to prompt you to install the new backup and restore before running the upgrade but I think people have been assuming that they don't need it as it was already on the phone.

Anyway, glad you are sorted now!
