Error message "unfortunately........"

raven4

Newbie
Hello,
I get this error message each time I load the tablet
"Unfortunately,the process com.Google.process.gapps has stopped"
What's wrong and what should I do, please?
raven4

thanks for your reply-I have done as you suggested and will try it out next time I start up.
As a complete newbiew to tablets and forums, is there anything in the second part of your message that is pointing me towards something I may have inadvertently done wrong

not necessarily something that you did persay but at times stuff happens. Clearing cache may help as suggested. If the problem persist even after a cache clean you may need to go to the sub forum of your particular device for further assistance. The very last resort should be to do a factory reset.

FYI the 'unfortunately [app name] has stopped' is the way an app crash is reported in Android. More recent versions (KitKat) seem to prefer crashing silently where the program just quits back to desktop, although the above message can still show for some older versions of apps.

Thanks, argedion,
clearing the cache did not work, the message appeared again this morning. How do I find my way to the devices sub-forum?

are you rooted? i only see crashes from 'gapps' when i install the wrong gapps package onto a custom ROM. then it happens like every few minutes.

Hello,
I am a total newbie to tablets. I have looked up your reference to "rooting" and no the tablet is as I bought it. A Google search suggested disabling it in Manager and then re-enabling it. This made no difference.
But thanks anyway for your time.

hello, again,
I have just realised that in your suggestion to clear the Google play app, I have actually not got an app just titled "google play". It lists "Google play books", "Google play services" and "Google play store". Each one under "clear cache" contains dire warnings about the consequences of ckicking "OK"
Which one should I select?
regards,
