Root Error Rooting phone

I followed this http://androidforums.com/admire-all...-recovery-not-compatible-rom-manager-yet.html and got odin installed.

I then did the update from metro to 2.3.6

Once that was done I went thought the steps outlined here

I go down to Apply sdcard:update.zip I click it then the following comes up

Eath /data/update_sucess
E:Update Logfile Does not exist
#MANUAL MODE#

-- Install from sdcard...
finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

Thats it at that point nothing else happens

Your suppose to do the 2.3.6 update first ...then install cwm through odin
