Root Error when flashing Rooted ROM 2.2

I just received my second EVO, I didn't have any issues with my first one and I'm using Rooted 2.2 with battery saver kernal. In the new phone, I was able to downgrade the HBOOT to .76, I rooted the phone using Simpleroot. Now , When I try to flash the Rooted 2.2, I'm receiving and error of MC5 and the phone goes into a loop of booting. I was able to get the phone back to "normal" using a nandroids backup. I'm missing a step? or just need a different way to flash the 2.2 rooted rom?
