Help Error when trying to update market apps

Beginning a few days ago, whenever I try to update apps I have moved to the SD card I get this message after it says "updating app" at the top of the screen post download:
Error: "Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card"
The app just stays in the list to be updated.
It happened out of the blue & there's no problem when updates are posted for apps stored on the phone. Any ideas?

I figured it out. Wow. This is really stupid & google might want to fix this as some sort of automated fix. You need to delete a random file from your SD card that you would never even know about otherwise!

Here's the link to the solution.

Insane.

Is your SD card full? Also if you have any apps installed on your sd card you might as well move them to internal storage you won't run out of space very easily unless you install hundreds and hundreds of apps... And if you if you don't get this error when they're in internal storage and your sd card isn't full them copy all your important stuff from your sd card to a computer and format your sd card then copy everything back and see if this helps!

wow ninjaed by the OP :/

Nope - not full. It was all because of some weird file called: "smdl2tmp1". I deleted it and it's back to normal. Thanks for your help too though! :)
