Help "Error while retrieving information from server"

Hi all.
Since yesterday i have been unable to download/update apps from Google Play.
The message i get is:-
"Error while retrieving information from server" [RPC:S-5:AEC-0].

This is the second time this has happened. The first time I resorted to a factory reset as i was not sure if it was my fault!
However, i do not want to go through this hastle again.

Has anybody else had this issue? and if so, any remedies?

Oh yeah, I have a Galaxy S2 on O2, running 4.1.2

Uninstall play updates then clear cache and data. Google download manager cache as well. Re install
