Help Error with the 3D camera (Green hue-video inside)

sounds like a a hardware issue, actually. something is broken feeding the image data from the cameras to your screen. If you can reliably reproduce it, and it sounds like you can, take it to Sprint; they will swap out your phone on the spot. Takes 15 min to do it.

Although, not exactly the same (it looks like these folks had horizontal versus vertical lines) check out this forum thread from the HTC site:

All of the folks there that had an issue with green lines indicated it was solved by a phone restart (holding down the power button and then choosing "Restart" from the popup menu. I would definitely give both a restart and a full power down, battery pull and restart a try before taking it in.

So I decided to try out the deodexed version of the OTA here.
[ROM] --- Stock Rooted 2.08.651.2 Odexed & De-Odexed --- - xda-developers

Now I cant reproduce the green hue no matter what. Can anyone else that has updated to the latest firmware see any difference?

I have the EVO 3D and when record a video in 2D there is a greenish tint if I record when the sun is out. Why is that? Can it be fixed?

I've done some informal testing, trying to reproduce the green tint issue after the 2.08.651.2 update, and it seems the update fixes this. I'll try and get a video up later.
 
I just tried to take a picture of our carpet cleaner info to order a part and found the camera has green lines all across the screen. I checked the picture and it seems to have the same lines. I'm pretty sure it has to do with my 17 m/o getting it one too many times and using it as a hammer :(

Anyone else have this problem and get it fixed? Am I stuck trading it in for a refurb under warranty? Any help would be great!

I had shut the phone down and turned it back on with the same results, but after finding an old post about something like this it said to restart and/or do a battery pull. I pulled the battery and kept it off for a minute. Now it is back up and running like it should! I am sure glad for this forum.
 
When this phone came out, HTC acknowledged that there was an issue with the oversaturation of greens on the camera on this phone. I have returned my phone 3 times now and every single one of them has had the issue. In fact, on my 3rd one the very first pic is posted at the bottom of this post. I took it just out of curiosity as I was leaving the Sprint store and actually laughed hysterically after clicking the shutter....a sort of unbelievable/amazed laugh. Anyway, I had bought CameraZoomFX from the market because of the excellent reviews it got hoping it would fix this issue. It did not. I uploaded the apk for the Amaze camera hack. Still the same issue. As has been discussed, it generally happens in direct sunlight although I get some pretty weird colors on a grey day as well. This device is badass outside of this issue. And I thought it might be a software issue but if it was, I am thinking HTC would have corrected it by now...they have not(unless I missed it somewhere). Which leads me to believe it might be a hardware issue. Anyway, I love the phone but the camera SUCKS! and it has me looking at other phones with better cameras. I know, "it is JUST a camera phone" but there other phones out there that have cameras that far exceed the capabilities of this one in the camera department.

Any word???

Instead of contacting Sprint, have you tried to call HTC tech support and hear it from the horses mouth and see what they say, that is what I would do

It is most likely a software issue. I have the same issue in certain lights on and off with the stock camera. I downloaded the Amaze camera and the green hue is gone and the picture quality is far superior. I would go exchange it now that I see it is not how the camera is but I don't plan on using the stock camera ever again so it is a non issue at this point.

Hi Neo! Yes, there is a nice little hack of the HTC Amaze camera software. There are some who don't like the default settings of the stock camera and prefer the default settings of the hack to having to manually change the settings in the stock one depending on conditions and subject. There is a thread in this forum if you are interested. I am using the rooted zip version and like it a lot, although to be honest I really didn't mind the default camera and manually changing the settings. I just like messing with my phone ;) There are apk versions for nonrooted users.

I recently took apart my HTC EVO 3d to replace the earpiece speaker. After a successful replacement the next time I went to take a picture I noticed there was something seriously wrong with the screen. It was almost completely pink and had lines going across the screen. When looking at the LCD screen when in camera mode everything is pink. Once you switch out of camera mode the screen is fine, so it seems to be a problem from the camera to the screen, and not the screen itself. I thought it could be a ribbon cable problem so I took the phone apart again and did my best to make sure they were connected, but it did not fix the problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
 
No clue, to hard to know without the phone in hand, I would take it in to a Sprint repair shop and let them look at it.
 
merged threads. try the steps listed here and/or re trace your steps when you took it apart. its possible you have damage the physical lens/aperture and the unit will need to be serviced/replaced.
 
Update: I took everything apart again and put it back together and still no difference. I did point the camera at the TV (while it was on) and took a picture. The picture of the TV screen was perfect with no color defects, but the area around the TV was a blurred pinkish color just like before. Do you think it could be something to do with the light sensor? When I point the camera at brighter lights the image gets better, but not good.
