Help ES File Explorer problem

Situation - server running OpenIndiana.

Unit has a ZFS pool with a published SMB share. This is accessible by everything including Ubuntu workstations, Windows workstations, Original Xbox and a rooted Apple TV2 - however, not ESFE.

I can browse the network and see the shares. Even adding a share in to the server list and then adding the authentication, results in the much talked about...

LOGIN FAILURE
This may be caused by...

Now ... something I've noticed.

On editing the server properties, the "demo" below the server name is missing the "//". However, it seems to require the "//" in order for this screen to successfully accept and save the server share details.

Looking at the properties, I then get smb:////192.168.... etc.

I'm running version 1.6.0.7 from the Android Market today.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Hi

Sorry to hijack. I'm having issues with es file explorer failing to find samba server. When I enter the IP address, samba share and user credentials, for about a minute I see adding server please wait a moment, then I get an error 'error cannot find server'. Windows (vista) finds the server perfectly when I type the IP address in the address bar. What am I doing wrong with ES explorer?
Thanks
Andy

Hi there

Indiana has had me playing with share forever with differing results for each user on different platforms, pain in the butt!

I used guest account, works fine
easiest way is to go to each shared folder and hold down to get settings, then short-cut to server list
this doesnt show the "//" in the name but does in the properties

I also have a problem where accessing anything folder that has many files, will time-out
i.e. my music folder times out with 200gig - 47,000 files
but one of my movie folders works fine with 550gig - 7,800 files
my bigger movie folder wont list... 160 TB - 4,200 files
maybe folder list restrictions????

not sure why!
