ES file explorer to access NAS

Karuk

We have two buffalo terastations at my office and several galaxy tabs. I contacted Buffalo to see if they had an android app designed to connect to our NAS. Of course they are swinging from jobs sack and have an iphone app but it appears no android app.

I tried ES File explorer and it works perfectly. I can access all of my files and folder on the nas.

It's pretty awesome pulling up documents in a meeting on the galaxy tab instead of a laptop.

Yes, a lot of people don't appreciate the workings of EStrongs File Explorer, it works perfectly for this and other forms of wireless data transfer.
I use it all the time to transfer data between all my Laptops and anything else connected to my WiFi network.

How do you connect it to your home network? I get an login failure when I click on an IP address.

Have a read of the notes from this taken from Droid forums.

I read throught that thread and couldn't find the issue that I'm having. I'm getting this pop up when I choose my IP Address:

Login Failure
Maybe caused by:
-wifi is off
-SMB server is otu of range
-IP is invalid
-Blocked by Firewall
-SMB service is off

I had the same prob when I scan for drives, and when i enter manualy.

I seem to have solved the problem by disabling my Trend Micro security software; then made the link to my shared directories via edtrong file man; after reactivating the security software, estrong file manager is able to access my lan at will.

Hi All,
Just configured my nas's to be seen by tab
I don't understand ftp ect, it's all a dark art to me, but at home it was easy enough.

Enabled DLNA streaming service and set up the shares within my readynas's, then connected to them using the AllShare program on tab.

Works perfectly.
