Essential Apps

I just picked up my Rezound last night and its still naked. I dont think i've seen this in here yet like I do in other phone forums. So what's everybody's essential apps for their Rezound?

PDAnet....err oh yeah tethering apps are looked down upon in here :(

Umm... lets see I have an ING app for online banking, paypal which lets me scan checks into my paypal account (like the Chase app but since I don't like the idea of doing business with big banks I don't have a Chase account), Amazon App store (Once in a while there's actually a good free app of the day), Printershare (free app from Amazon's free app of the day) which lets me print from printers on my company's domain (as long as I'm connected via wifi and the software has the correct printer drivers), Navigation (but it's already pre-installed), Titanium Backup (once we get permanent root access), and as far as gaming is concerned, I prefer games that divert my attention, not necessarily engross me nor pull me into some movie-quality storyline. These are Amazon freebies: Peggle, Baseball Superstars, Bejeweled 2, Drag Racing premium, Chuzzle, Lets Bowl Deluxe. The trial version of Lets Golf 2 looks great on the phone btw, and Speedtest of course is a must for showing off your 4G speeds (granted I haven't seen the great speeds when attempting to download larger files).

I'd personally like to see something that's 720p compatible with the Rezound in terms of great graphics and high audio fidelity that benefits from the Beats.

I downloaded a few things yesterday while at my parents for their thanksgiving dinner but I still have a few left over that I am waiting on before downloading. Now have:

Angry Birds
Blood and Glory NR
QuickOfficePro
Amazon App Store
Phandroid
SpeedTest

Items waiting to download(for various reasons):

Beautiful Widgets
Construction Master Pro
Widgetlocker
Titanium Backup
Root Explorer
Battery Left
Cubed(3)

I find Task Manager invaluable for clearing out memory (Advanced Task Manager too and Astro - all have different task-clearing options). Keeps phone running peppy (or whatever the adverb form is of "peppy" - peppily? LOL).

Out of Milk is my grocery shopping list although it lacks 1 or 2 essential tasks I need.

I create widgets for frequently-visited web sites.

Netflix Manager for managing my Netflix queue.

aCalendar is my calendar supplement of choice and GO Launcher is my launcher of choice for customizing my screens.

Oh, and Beautiful Widgets to customize my clock/weather/date widget on my home page.

Oh and almost forgot, Google Goggles is pretty slick, uses your camera to identify things and then does a google search based on the image.

Yelp is also pretty slick with its augmented reality search of items of interest around you.

Then there's stuff like Weather Reality (augmented reality for the weather geeks, but not free), and Walk and Text (uses your camera as a background while you text so you don't fall into a manhole, but also costs).

I am from the school of fill your screens with many applications to increase functionality and boost efficiency perspective. I know.....I know......there is a more predominant school whose preferences run to the lean clean screen with just a few widgets and a more dominant screensaver ( and with the Rezounds HD 720 p I have never seen screensavers look better.....ever ).

Multicon is an awesome app - let's you populate the space normally taken by one widget and place four in the same screen space - so I have my four main widgets on the bottom row with a second row above with 16 widgets in the same row space. I group them by function - multimedia, social media, word processing / excel, news, etc. Kinda crowds up the screen but allows for all my essential needs on one screen and at my fingertips......I think one of the most underappreciated but best apps out there.

I have had my Rezound for two weeks now and love it........what was my life like before........can't even remember ......

Verizon Messaging is by far the best text messaging app there is , give it a shot lets you do group texting with ios4 users without having to convert each message to a mms .

Zombieville is really a fun game , I use DirecTV Sunday Ticket it's stellar ..

Sportcaster
Happy Hours (show the best happy hour deals around you)
Phandroid app
Spotify Best streaming app
Urbanspoon and Yelp
Zedge for ringtones and wallpaper
Dolphin Browser HD
Amazon Appstore
Gingerbread Keyboard (way better then the HTC keyboard )

If you click on "Personalize", it lets you create folders that you can group apps based on interest/categories. Have you tried that over downloading an extra app, even if you're from that particular school? ;)

Btw, I just realized that I had launcherpro on my DX but its not showing up in the marketplace. Anybody know what might be going on?

TxGoat.......thanks for the reminder for this option......guess I am not inclined to go the folder route ...... though a good way to go for sure it kinda reminds me of using my desktop windows operating system with files labeled for everything...preference is to use the app icons ( some of which are pretty colorful and cool ) with the vibrancy of the screen resolution - especially the pixel density on the Rezound screen - not a big fan of Samsung screens - think they almost have too much color not to mention my own view of a build quality for the phone itself - me thinks HTC leads in build quality ( sorry all you converted I-Phone users). Just one opinion among many...
