Root Esteem programming help

Guys and Gals I need your help please. I have my esteem rooted and I never did the update to ZVC. I have super user as well with rooting permissions. However I cant get recovery through the methods given it says it is done and never does anything. Also ROM toolbox only half works. I have overclocked yet because that isnt working right either. I need someone tech savy and with a little bit of time to maybe sit down and answers some questions and help with a little more personal walkthrough. I have skype and yahoo for video calling also google talk if needed. If anyone can help id greatly appreciate it. Just private message me and ill give you my info.

ok im all flashed with new rom i backup on cwr so how do i restore my apps?

Did you use an app to backup your apps? If not then you just redownload them. I prefer Mybackup root for backing up apps but I also dont like to restore apps with a new rom, I prefer fresh downloads and installs. The good news is you dont have to wipe data for any rom updates so you wont have to do this again until CM9.
