Esteem to Spirit

Been reading many reviews and I've decided to go with the Spirit vs. The S3. Hope I'm making the right choice! I have faith in the devs to find root and start putting ROM's out! I've never bought a phone that didn't have root found already, but again I have faith lol. How's it compare to the Esteem for gaming? Or battery life?

The Spirit is a great phone and a big jump from the esteem, you'll definitely like it. I'm enjoying it as much as my S3, if not more.

I think bnb's point might be resonable, don't get me wrong, this phone is nice(especially if you can get the rebate with wirefly.)

but then again it's possible LG could have outdone themselves this time and no devs decide to drop by the spirit's forum.

Personally, I'm getting it. Course, I'm coming from an Optimus M+, so it's an easy upgrade for me. I will be happy and content with, or without root and custom recovery.

I hope someone does find root, i went and picked it up last night lol.

I feel slightly ripped off but i do love the speed. I miss the LED notification light, and most of all the HDMI port. I got really turned off with how cheap it feels compared to the Esteem. I'm afraid i will break it in my hand or something, but i suppose it will grow on me, battery life has been about the same so far. We really, really need root.

The battery on this phone has been way better than the Esteem.

I haven't missed the LED Notification. Never really paid attention to it to start with.

Most phones don't have HDMI out anymore.

No phone is built like the Esteem anymore. They are all light and dainty. :dancing2:

Just to add to that...
As technology moves forward, phones get thinner and lighter while materials get better. These materials are designed to handle impact better.

I miss the led's, but the phone beeps when it reaches full charge.

If you want to connect to a TV, it can be done through DLNA... This works on PS3, xBox 360, and smart tv's & blue ray players.

Thanks for that link! I think i will like it the more I use it. As for battery, it is about the same I was getting on the Esteem with #2 rom installed, and with the Spirit having a dual core, I think that's a plus to be that good on battery.

One good thing I can say, the speaker is SO much better.

As far as root goes, money talks, I'd be willing to throw bills into a pool account. ... first dev to find root and put out a recovery gets a lump sum. Just an idea lol

I'll let someone else find the root, than I'll take the credit and money.. That will make shabby happy haha inside joke well not really if you read through the threads.
