ETA for Gingerbread on Three - Available Now

Someone's just posted in the thread I linked and said that it is the Desire, not the HD that won't be getting GB (something to do with not enough memory to run GB and Sense...

funny thats roughly same reply i got today, they told me cant see it being any time soon,

shame really this is the only thing that lets three down as network,
 
Unfortunately im one of the unlucky ones who has a branded three bloatware DHD and i really am looking forward to the update but THREE are taking the absolute piss in releasing there own bloated version! is there still no news at all? Im thinking of just going in there and making a stand for us branded users!!

Just downloading it now, will see how I get on. Fingers crossed the battery will have been improved
 
You should get on fine CD :)

I've had no known issues so far. been messing with it for an hour. Id love to get a list of exactly whats changed on 2.3

Although u can see a few little things from the sharp end. like the brightness of the screen seems to have improved. i dont know if thats just me but it looks like theres more colour and contrast to it

Think there have been quite a few "under the hood" tweaks, which means it should run a lot smoother and the battery life should be improved.

People have been complaining about WIFI and GPS issues though. HTC have said that the WIFI problems are actually to do with the software itself and, as such, is a google problem, which will hopefully get resolved with either a patch or an update to Gingerbread... this will hopefully not take too long. There are work arounds for the issues though (posted in threads in the DHD forums) :D
 
well tbh honest dont seem all that differant, few little things here and there but thats all

defo smoother, tho my battery seem to have died lot quicker today, but i have bin flicking about on it a lot

anyone else find anything
 
One problem after updating is my music albums seems to have been split.

One album Is now 10 albums.. with the tracks split between them. Same goes for the other albums. Haven't tryed to resolve this issue yet but wanted to see if any others had a similar problem.

Other then the above I've had no problems thus far.
 
yeah i have smiler issue with music too,,, album art doesnt match which album it belongs to,

yeah app draw is better, also like the settings on status bar tab,

also like the slight changes in contacts
 
quick question, the GB update was available to me the other day but was at work so didn't download it, was expecting another notification when i got home and was on wifi to tell me that it was available, but until now nothing

is there anyway i can manually go "grab" GB or do i have to wait for it ping to me?

i'm 3 network by the way
 
There's a check for update button somewhere, but dialing *#*#CHECKIN#*#* will do it too. (Replace the letters with the number key they are on in the dialer app).
 
The update is fine but one major problem for me.

Every time I unlock the phone the weather starts up, sun, cloud or whatever, Iv'e done all the usual, unticked the "show full screen animations" but still the weather appears after unlocking.

This is a highly annoying problem because I see it every single time I open my phone, which is probably 100-150 times a day, and I'm sure it's draining my battery.

Been in touch with HTC, as ever they are next to useless just a standard generic reply pointing me to their support pages, which don't even mention the problem I'm having.

The HD is my third HTC phone and every time there has been an update there have been problems.

I love HTC phones but their software is bloody useless. I really wish I hadn't bothered updating and I'd love to find a way to roll back.
