EvDO Rev. 0

First post sorry if this has been covered but I searched and didnt find anything.

My phone shows only EvDO Rev. 0 and the speed tests I have been doing for the past month confirm this is true. I called verizon and they said it is a software issue but it is connected to Rev. A but not by the speeds (300Kbps down, 100Kbps up) so they are handing it over to their "data people" and will get back to me. The Tech tested an Eris where he was and confirmed my findings true. I called HTC and they said it should definitely be connected to Rev. A if available. I know it is available because 2 other phones(DROID and Imagio) both show Rev A. and the Eris Rev. 0.

Please let me know if others find the same to be true with their phones

My Eris just says CDMA - EvDo...
No 0 or Rev A.


EDIT: NVM I went into the phone info screen from the dialer.
Mine says EvDo Rev. 0
 
I think the reason for the rev 0 is that only certain markets actually have rev a coverage. or verizon is pulling our leg and wouldnt think we would find out
 
The lack of availability was my first thought too. Then I set a friends Motorola Droid on my couch right next to my Eris (the Droid can bring up the same menu as the Eris) and it says EvDo Rev. A
 
I called them about this and they put me on disregard. The tech talked down to me like I didn't know what I was talking about. Then he told me it wasn't an issue. I had to go to his supervisor and she said she would give it to their "data people" and call me back Monday or Tuesday because they weren't in on the weekends.
 
Mortgage_It-- it means you aren't getting as high of a speed data as you should be getting. I should be connected to EVDO Rev. A which from what I have read is 25% faster download and up to 800% faster upload than EVDO Rev. 0
 
So this is a flaw that we all have? I went into the phone info and have:
CDMA - EVDO rev.0

Is this something I should contact Verizon about?
 
Okay, Still says rev 0 for me, Signal 0 dbM. I turned 3G on, wifi off, downloaded speedtest.net from Market

Well for me 3G download is awful, upload is decent. Which seems odd to me. I thought download was supposed to be way faster than upload. Too bad I'm not hosting a server on my cell phone.
