evdo rev b

So, I was reading about this EvDo Rev B upgrade that Sprint is working on for their towers, boosting 3G speeds by a good amount. I realize that our MTs don't support EvDo Rev B, but if the rumors of the Evo 3D coming to Virgin Mobile is true, that might be the closest us Virgin Mobile users get to 4G (as those phones support EvDo Rev B) . Pretty excited lol

If they re-released the MT with this chipset, would you get it? If they did, they should let us trade in our current MTs for a reduced price.

Wishful thinking I guess.

If and only if they did that I would.

If they did upgrade the Triumph it'd most likely have Gingerbread aswell and be called the Triumph 2 probably priced at $330

- easy way to make more money

Or better yet, ICS. I think they would attract way more consumers if they did this. I guess the only knock I have on this phone is 3G data speeds. Although I've had it as high 1.8mbps down (not burst), I usually get around 300-800kbps.

Isn't rev B slower than Rev A anyways? And also if they rereleased the MT how many people would actually buy it knowing how many problems people have had, unless Moto totally rebuilt the MT and didn't rebrand a phone.

No rev B is just a little faster than rev A. Rev A can hit speeds upto about 3 and B to about 5mbps. And i do agree with you that know one would buy MT if the re-released with minor tweak. the only was i would buy it and not saying that i would but if i know they started from scratch with the MT.

Ev-Do | Ev-Do Commercial Provider | Qualcomm

According to the Qualcomm website, it could theoretically get up to 14.7 Mbps. I'm thinking if they released a MT2, it would sell well if it had a 1.5 GHz dual core processor. I sure as hell would get it.

And it would be hella expensive too...

Even if I were to shell out $400, I'd still be saving over the long haul. I'm still on the $25/month plan lol I'm the type where if I find a good phone, I stick with it for a while +I've only ever had 6 phones).

I'm pretty sure I was near a tower, the signals are always good at this Target I go to near my house. If I consistently had speeds like this, I'd be content. (the top 4)
