Everything EB01: Q&A's

hey, searched high and low, having a hard time finding any useful info about this. flashed over EB01 Superclean 2.4 NonVoodoo (rooted) and GPS won't lock. is this a known bug/limitation? or can others get it to lock. Was perfect before with 2.1. Thanks!

Mine worked fine with 2.1, and it still works with EB01. I would try reflashing the updated modem/radio zip file and re-flashing your kernel. It should still work with EB01. I got all this stuff to work easily with my wife's new Fascinate, but it took forever to get MY Fascinate working. If you've had different kernels on your Fascinate before going to EB01, or one of the superclean mods of it, that can muddy the process.

Just for fun, try flashing the voodoo version, too. You can go back if it doesn't work by doing the "disable_voodoo" step, and then reflashing your old, nonvoodoo.

Thanks got it goin. Not sure what the problem was.

Hey, I have the nonvoodoo though. It sounds like I can flash the voodoo kernel without wiping the phone and redoing everything? EB01 is pretty fast as is, somewhat curious how much better voodoo could be...

Last thing, anyone having random phone reboots with EB01 superclean? Not sure what triggers it, a few times it has been that junk words with friends app.

Does anyone use exchange? Can you move emails between exchange folders? Can you configure more than one account?

Playing around with the camera today and noticed that not only is geolocation enabled, but there isn't a place in camera settings to turn it off/on either. Anyone else spotted this?

I'm currently on the full-bloat EB01, poking around with that a bit more before I put it on my fiancee's phone and move to Superclean+voodoo. She's still on EA28 OTA and seriously hating her phone.

What does it put for a location when you take a pic with the GPS turned off?

It appears to use cell tower locations, judging by the GPS coordinates.

Wow, you're right. I can't for the life of me find a way to turn that off. You might have to try a different ROM with a different camera app, or version. I checked and every pic I've taken since I put EB01 on their has some kind of location data.

creeeeeepy....... :(

I just strip exif data in postprocessing with a perl script. Haven't tried yet but posting from something like photoshop mobile might remove geotags also.

Yeah, you can probably do a batch in Bridge. I'm not really worried. Nothing to hide. In fact, I would probably leave it turned on even if I had the choice. I take LOTS of pics and vids with my cellphone. On principle it's just nice to HAVE the choice.

I have noticed that from the lock screen you can see the time that your alarm is set for. I wish that it would show a countdown of the time for the alarm, just curious on how many hours and minutes for sleep. I can do the math but would rather not, you know what I mean?
