Root everything just stopped?

So I was using my rooted prevail My gf same phone also rooted, is experiencing somewhat some of the same phone symptoms i am having, it both started i think yesterday i know some other users here saw the notification for a new system update, we both know not to install them so we didnt, I rebooted my phone, i did not get the notification again today but this is what is happening.

no just reflash the rom or another rom
or if you have a backup restore

Connect to PC with USB cable.
Download CTMOD or another rom
Move to a folder on your phone
On CWM use - clean cache, factory reset, dalvik cache.
Install zip from sd card
Install ctmod
Your phone should now work.
