Help Evo 3D Software Update Coming August 23rd (rolling out now)

I noticed when I updated the other day that certain apps would not move to the sd card. I think it is the apps that have some data still in internal memory. If you didn't have these apps on the sd card before you updated, you might not be able to move them. Example of what I am talking about is the Equalizer app. I did not have it on my sd card when I updated. The option to move it was removed after the update. I did have it on the sd card when I first downloaded the app and then decided to put on the phone. After update I could not put it back on the sd card. Yesterday I went to the Sprint store to have my phone repaired. They came me another phone . The phone did not have the update on it. I redownloaded the Equalizer app and others and moved them to the sd card. I updated. They are still on the sd card with option of putting them on the phone. The update seems to lock in what you already had on your phone before the update. Just my thoughts. Have you tried removing these apps and then reinstalling them?

@marctronixx: I'm not rooted and I haven't done a factory reset.

@mak916: I just tried clearing the data first, no success. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled one of the apps, also no success. This is pissing me off because I don't want my internal memory bloated with garbage programs I don't use too often.

I have a similar issue, but a bit different. I have a 16GB SD card that has 10 GB free. When I use the native program under Settings, SD and Phone Storage and then Make More Space, it shows that I have 973MB /1175MB. It seems that after the update there is somehow a limitation/partition that was introduced. Seems odd to me.

After doing this software update, every single app I've downloaded does not let me move it to the SD card. I've tried 10+ different apps so far. Yes, it can be pure coincidence but I never had this problem until I did the update.

Anyone else having this problem?

I NOTICED this exact thing, ive been searching all these update threads to see if anyone else noticed. Before update, you could move almost anything to SD whether it was officially enabled by the developer or not except for system apps. I moved every app i put on to the sd and no problems...

Now after update, its defaulted back to the way original evo was... only those officially enabled to do so will move......

This was a really nice feature of the new 3d and im pissed its gone...i really want to roll back the update due to this........

So either does anyone know if a hard reset may fix this...or how to roll back the update...or any apps2sd app that will move everything like the evo 3d could pre update?? Im suprised more people haven't talked of this yet

A factory reset might be worth trying. I think many people haven't started talking about this yet is because they have not realized it. After every update I look through my phone to see what has been added and what might be missing. I want to know how the phone has changed. This is one reason why I noticed. Thats just me. Maybe others will noticed soon. But the good thing about HTC is that they seem to listen to their customer complaints. Lets see what happens.

ill say again, i have nearly 20 ish apps from the store and i have moved them all to SD card. i did not factory reset. the only reason i kept SOME in handset storage was due to the generic icon bug. once that was confirmed fixed, i went in and moved the remaining handful that i kept on the handset storage because i had those on sense screens.

I hard reset my phone today (after I had installed the update for 2.3.4 a few days ago). After that, I downloaded all my apps, and tried to move them to my SD storage - every single app I tried to move told me "unable to move" (or something like that). Funny thing is that I tried to move the apps again - right after I got the message, and each one moved successfully! (this includes apps from the market and also from amazon appstore)
Try the same app twice in a row - it just might work for you. (it did for me).

I don't know what caused this on my phone - never had this issue earlier.

I have searched and have had no luck with this one. I removed the Spiderman and 3d Green Hornet prior to the last Maintenance update by deleting their folders on the SD card. This did not remove them from my Apps list though as expected.

I downloaded the original SD files again and replaced them and then used the new uninstall option now available to us, but Green Hornet and Spiderman are still listing. I noticed the Spiderman game wasn't a part of the original SD card files, can't remember how I deleted that game. Is there a way to remove these icons? I am not rooted.

Thanks

My camera shutter sound is directly controlled through the main phone volume. If my phone is on vibrate, there's no shutter sound. If the volume is on, shutter sound. Every time.
