Help Evo 4g Dialer Lag

I have been experiencing really long lags in the HTC stock dialer for some time now and it only seems to be getting worse. Sometimes after I tap a contact, it takes the dialer over 30 seconds to actually dial out. I have seen this issue posted in a number of android forums but have yet to see anyone come up with a solution.

Does anyone know what causes this and IS there a fix short of installing a different dialer? Will a hard reset fix the issue? I am rooted and will probably flash CM7 soon. I assume it comes with its own dialer which will not "inherit" the lag problem.

Any feedback will be appreciated. If this question has been asked/answered already, please post a link to the appropriate thread.

Welcome to the forums!!! :)

If you're rooted already it's probably easier to fix. Try booting into your recovery and wiping just the cache partition and the dalvik cache. That may clear out some of that lag.

A factory reset will most likely aleviate the lag you're getting, but if you're rooted, I would make a nandroid backup, wipe the phone clean and flash a new rom.
