Help Evo 4G Screen dies wont turn on when tap! Help!

So i bought this evo 4g on ebay.. i changed the battery, bought new one.
When the screen dies.. (hibernate or something when unused) i tapped the screen knowing it will turn on again.. but nothing happen.. i thought the phone died but theres a green light blinking on the speaker. then i hit the power button then the screen goes on again (not restarting, the screen turned on at the home with the clock/time on it..)... then i tried to hit the power button (as what i saw on youtube , when he hit the button theres a popup option to choose with shutdown etc..) but mines not. it just hibernate like what happen when unused after i hit the power button.. if i hit it again it will turn on..

besides that.. phone works great the screen was clear looks new, though the camera was bit blurry coz of camera lens has scratches at the back...


is theres something wrong with this? or just a os bug?? i dont know much about smartphones and android..

when you have the phone times out and the screen turns off, you have to hit the power button to turn it back on. nothing will happen when you hit the screen as the phone is sleeping when the screen is off.

and to fully power off your phone you need to go to settings/apps/uncheck fastboot. fastboot is like hibernation for phones. it will boot up without having to go through the splash screen and boot animation, but it is not fully powered off.

Oh i see.. so on the tapping issue that wont turn the screen on is normal by default?

but how about the power button, when the screen is on then i hit/hold the power button then released it the screen shuts off rightaway and no popup option appeared that i could choose whether i like it to turn off or something?..

sorry but i did not see the tap to turn off at the time slot. it is all done with the power button. you need to uncheck fastboot to get it to power off.
