EVO availability for sprint employees and advantage club

How much do you want to bet that September's update just says:

"an update on when employees and Advantage Club customers will be able to purchase the phones is expected in October"

only to be followed in October by:

"an update on when employees and Advantage Club customers will be able to purchase the phones is expected in November"

I am sure that we'll have the EVO available in November. November 2011.

I don't think so, I believe that the new smartphone fee is the same "premium data fee" that is associated with the Evo and epic on consumer plans.

When HTC EVO 4G and other 4G handsets are available to SWAC subscribers, a $10 per month premium data add-on service is required in addition to the rate plan the device is activated on. This is the same add-on service that is also required for 4G handset subscribers on consumer plans.
Emphasis mine.

I think it is an extra $20.

$10 for premium data, like non-SWAC customers.

$10 for "wireless advantage" which would give SWACers AnyMobile and Nav.

SWAC subscribers using select smartphones: Effective with the start of October bill periods, these subscribers will be migrated to new “Wireless Advantage Premium” rate plans, costing $10 more per month. The select smartphones that will require a Wireless Advantage Premium rate plan include: HTC HeroTM with GoogleTM, Samsung MomentTM with Google, Palm

Ok, I just saw this new information added. Not sure long it was there, but I check this link every few days just to see that I can't get the Evo yet. So I just noticed that they put in a new link to the bottom of the page that says "Advantage Club Rate Plan changes coming soon. Lear More", which posts this:

does anyone know how the advantage club works for friends of employees? My friend has been at sprint 4-5 months and has been holding out on getting an account until the evo is available. He is willing to add me to his account as well. If i was to purchase the evo outright would he be able to get me the discount or would i need to wait for him to get one as well?

I believe you can buy it outright (full price), but neither of you can get any discounts.

If he has been there 5 years why on earth would he not have an account already... I mean their plans are free every month and you get phone upgrades every year instead of every 2. If he adds you you will basically get the new customer price of $199 because itll be a new line. Advantage club lines arent under contract either... theyre month to month. And if you purchase it outright there will be no discount.. if he's going to add you just wait until he starts his account and then start 2 lines at the same time... but then again who knows WHEN they will even be available for advantage club people.. i'm having a feeling that once September gets here they're gonna push it back again and the Epic will probably be the same way. Thats why im glad I got mine day one...plus I still have my upgrade.

My cousin who has me under his SAC plan told me there is a good chance the Samsung Epic will be available before the Evo. I sure hope he is wrong :-/

The sad part is that the excitement of the Evo is pretty much over for me. My friend was one of the employees who won a free Evo before they came out. So everytime I go over there, I have to"tinker" with her Evo.

evo-notifier Now shows the EVO as being "Possibly in stock", which is a change in status. For the last couple of months it has indicated that it was out of stock. Not sure what "possibly" means, and the evo-notifier isn't an official Sprint thingy by any means.

Since I bought mine outright.. Im thinking about using my upgrade to get one.. wait until they go out of stock again and then throw it on cl for full price lol.

On the same note if you go to sprint.com you can order the EVO online. So this tells me we will be able to order it soon, and i mean within a couple weeks hopefully.

Honestly if I had waited to use my upgrade to get this phone rather than getting it day one I doubt if i'd even still want it. Going on 3 months now... that's ridiculous.
