EVO availability for sprint employees and advantage club

^^^^^ Can't do sliders... :(

November is so, so far away.

Maybe it's a hinge... so u don't have to worry. ;)

If November happens, then...ok. But if it's mid-Nov and if I'm still waiting and if this comes out in Jan (excuse my run-on/ifs')... the Knight might seem more appealing (if it isn't plagued by the "EVO-wait-time-syndrome").

I received the following email on the morning of Saturday 10/23/10:

Hi Frank,

It's good to hear from you. I think you've made a good choice, the HTC EVO is a great phone. We have been informed an announcement is being made in the next 2 weeks regarding EVO/Epic employee availability so hopefully I can get your order submitted then. I will let you know as soon as the order is processed and I will provide you with order and tracking information. Let me know if you need anything or have any questions between now and then.

Have a great weekend!

Yes, & that should be available by summer '11...

if....

what i read is true.. it is scheduled by end of this year. maybe Q1 1011.

it is based on G2 and Desire Z... and these phones are already released on Tmobile and in other countries. I dont see why it would take till middle of next year to release.

it might not be available to us till 6 months after release.

From what I've heard, yesterday's announcement from Sprint regarding the availability of the Epic and EVO to employees and SWAC essentially stated, "We told you that we'd give you an update in October and so here it is: there will be another announcement in November."

I do know that QEM was rescheduled for Monday, November 1. It may be wishful thinking but perhaps this caused the delay and it won't be another two (or more) weeks before we learn anything more. Read my previous posts but it would make sense to have Dan Hesse announce these devices' availability to all employees (rather than sending a mass communication stating, "Hey, you can order your new phone now.")

haha, yeh i thought it was funny too the way they worded it. Its like they were living up to their promise of giving us an update and the update is to wait more, lol.

It does make sense to make the announcement at the QEM. Especially since their the 2 most popular phones. Why not have a big announcement.

I did (finally) have the chance to read last Friday's announcement on i-Connect, which states that HTC EVO 4G and Samsung Epic 4G employee and SWAC "launch plans are finally underway for an early November launch." That said, the announcement also states that we can "expect to see an announcement on employee and SWAC availability in the next two weeks."

Again, it may be wishful thinking but I'm not reading anything that would lead me to believe that it's going to be Thanksgiving before we hear good news. Perhaps an announcement will be made at QEM offering us a timetable.

LOL at poster who wants to stick it to Sprint by getting a Droid 2 to use on Sprint. Okay...

Its not like I want to "stick it" to them. All I want is a High-end Android 2.1/2.2 full QWERTY phone. I have confirmation that Sprint will not under ANY circumstances activate any Evos or Epics in my area ( Georgia ). If that wasn't the case, I would have an epic laying on my desk right now. I am getting very tired of Sprint's crap , but I will be patient and wait until Thanksgiving before I quit and just give into buying a hero. Because my Palm Pixi is falling apart.

Huh... im in Georgia...

I heard that they are waiting to release their new revised hardware version, the Evo rev. 007. I have it on good authority that in this version they have fixed all the issues the previous versions have & when you turn it on, if an iphone is within 1 mile, it emits an EMP that permanently disables it. It is also equipped with a periscope & self-destruct button.

I've been waiting this entire time, and can't get a freakin' Blackberry disabler?

As a SWAC customer this is rather frustrating. However, i could not even imagine a employee who is stuck dealing with 15 year old girls who bring their (EVO's, or EPIC) phones in because they are too stupid to use them. Only to go home with their samsung flip phone that they had for over a year and a half because they were waiting for the android phones. This is absolutely the worst customer service i have ever experienced (and i have Time Warner). With how quickly technology is replaced 6 months is beyond an eternity to wait to get a high end device. These phones are already going out of style, and the next best thing might be worth the wait at this point. I'm seriously debating paying more per month, for better service, and better customer service through Verizon.

I can also confirm you can have an evo on swac. I am using it to type right now. As for the availability date. I bought and kept my upgrade. Forget waiting. It will be outdated in 6 months anyways...like all phones.

Just keep your fingers crossed for there being an announcement tomorrow. Maybe you will get to order it in the next two weeks...

If you want to buy EVO on craigslist/Ebay, that is fine... The people worried about investigations for SWAC/EWD should worry some, but not fully.... Here is what appears to be happening that is causing investigations....... Someone steals an EVO, they call in to do a ESN change on the actual person's account who it belongs too (usually because 95% of all thefts are family/friend who may actually know your PIN number cause they are with you all the time and over hear it) they then sell it on craigslist/EBAY cause the ESN is now clean and free and clear to move on because the ESN is no longer active after doing a swap, (given they sell it fast enough before the actual owner realizes its gone) you buy it and activate it on your account cause it goes through as it is not yet reported stolen. The actual account holder reports it stolen, Fraud gets involved, and if its on your account, your screwed and its investigated. Not to mention the other portion of investigations are Employees literally stealing them and going into accounts and remove the stolen flag or doing an ESN change themselves, then selling them (this is a very very small few involving employees comiting the act). And, People will scam you as the buyer as well. They will do an ESN change and sell their own EVO, then call in and report it stolen and act like, who the hell did an ESN change, I never authorized this... Of course most of these are thrown out as the scammer is usually caught quickly and its usually not the buyers fault. But during the investigation, your account is frozen and non-usable which can take months for the investigation to complete, paper wise, the con-artists are usually caught within weeks, but for paper procedures and documenting the entire fraud case can take months to complete. **whats funny is now that I posted this fact, no one will ever buy a phone from craigslist/ebay again after reading this. LOL-Sorry, just wanted to straighten out the facts from fiction.**

I've been contemplating responding to this for about 15 minutes because I know this is going to make you mad but it's NOTHING PERSONAL OK, So--- I'm Sorry... Ok... Now what type of Friends - worst of all Family members do you have in your circle? Why would you even say that?!! No - Offense but that is just plain scary :D!!! You seem to reek of a person who has had a BAD experience with something then you tend to state that your experience will happen to everyone and that's not true. Here is some FREE advice - " Don’t buy a Phone from Craigslist" End Quote.. I don’t know about you but My family has never stolen anything from me and I hope that my brother realizes that those Prince albums ( Vinal ) are mine and that he just argued to the point that I said take them.... But I'm not knocking you just saying that people here are trying to get a HTC Evo under the employee plan right....
