I stumbled on this today and thought I'd share.
As we all know, the iPad uses a 10W wall-charger to charge while in use. If it's plugged into a standard USB port/charger (500ma) it will only charge when the screen is off and it's not in use. (and then painfully slowly)
Today I didnt have my 10W charger so I plugged my iPad into my (stock) EVO charger, thinking that I could just turn it off and let it charge an hour or two, but I was shocked to see it start charging while powered on! (not as fast as the 10W charger - only like 1% every couple minutes, but again the point is I didnt have to turn the iPad off!)
I dont know what the wattage on the EVO charger is, but obviously it's more than 500ma, and it's a nice quick and dirty alternative for iPad!
