Help EVO Email Notification

When I receive a single email, my EVO notifies me every few minutes and doesn't stop until I acknowledge the email. Is there a way to turn this off to get one notification each time I get new email?
 
Are you using Gmail app or stock email app? And have you looked at the settings inside either app to make sure there's no reminder set?
