Evo fumbled onto a cement sidewalk

Ravensthief

Newbie
Pictures of the carnage below... And behold, a shiny new replacement from Asurion to make everything all better. I knew I shouldn't have nice things, but insurance helps make it less expensive.

It did have a case and a screen protector on at time of impact.

Ouch, this is exactly why I have insurance. You never know what's going to happen.

I'm happy I have insurance too. I do hope I don't have to use it though, because I just love my Evo. :)

I bike to work and put my phone in a bag along with my changing clothes. The other day I forgot that my phone was in there. Pull out the pants and the phone was sent flying. It hit the side door of a steel incubator and landed on the ground. Thought it was lost, but it has a inch long scratch on the glass. Kinda expensive I guess to replace it for 100 bucks for such a small scratch.

I'm glad I have insurance as well.

Yeah, it's stupid things like that which made me decide to get the insurance. No matter how careful you plan on being, something can always happen.

I broke my Samsung Moment screen in Feb so I called DR CELL which is right off of Harry Hines in Dallas. They were able to fix it for about $102 in three days. You could call them up and ask them if they do Evos yet. At the time their web site did not say anything about repairs of Moments.
Luckily I had a backup phone.

At the time it seemed to be a very busy place.

There are other cell phone repair shops around the Bedford area, but have never dealt with them.

Really bothers me they break this easy and I have to treat it like a priceless artifact.

Thats the one thing I miss about my Samsung Instinct, I can't tell you how many times I got mad at it and purposely threw it without any issues. If I drop my EVO its probably going to blow up!

question. when did you file your claim vs they contacted you for payment? because i filed my claim a little over two months ago and got theme everything they needed and i still haven't heard back from them. and my screen is worse off than yours. lol. not to mention my messed up charging port.

Just treat it as anger management......you get a shiny toy and therapy all in one!

I had to call them to finalize my claim

I dropped mine Monday at the gas station. I was sleeping and when we pulled in I got out and bam. It fell on one of the corners and landed face down. Only thing that happened was a few small nicks and dings on the bezel and I noticed my camera lens has a crack in the formation of a "Y" in it.

I would have passed out had I done that...No seriously!!
Had I not been so hungover from the whole weekend I probably would of but after 2 days of floating down a river and drinking (plus drinking afterwards at camp) I was able to just say oh shit. Pick it up and put it in my pocket.

Sedio Innocase Limited Edition case (whatever it's called) helped this not happen to mine.

Fell out of my pocket while crossing the street.

So walking to class today I went to pull my EVO out of my pocket when it got caught on my shirt and backpack strap. Somehow I was able to catch it before completely losing it and dropping it on the sidewalk (I'm case-less mind you). I had a flashback to this thread and breathed a sigh of relief :p
