Help Evo is so laggy!

Sometimes to the point that it freezes up. When it does freeze up, locking and unlocking the phone gets it to return to normal but the lag returns within seconds. I do have a task killer that I tried using during moments where lag was noticeable but it didn't seem to do any good. I freed up some internal memory by moving all of my apps to the SD but although it did help some, the lag persists.

Try turning off the phone for a couple minutes then turning it on. Seemed to work for me when I had the same problem.

Yeah I tried that as well. It seems to fix the problem for a couple of minutes only.

Get rid of the task killer.

My launch day EVO had gotten this way after a ton of installs, uninstalls, and mods. I did a factory reset and everything has been smooth since. I did this a month ago so my EVO was 5 months old when I factory reset it.

Only install apps that you would really use, and remove the apps that are just taking up space. Also use a static wallpaper instead of a live one. Not only will your smoothness will improve, your battery life as well.

If worse case scenario that it didn't do the trick, do what docprego said, do a factory reset.

It's not the task killer... I have atk installed on my phone and I have no lag at all at any time. I get tired of seeing that comment.

I would be suspect of a run away app or just a poorly written app. Have you tried looking at what's running when you get the lag?

If all else fails, do a reset and then only install the things you really need.
