Root evo on cricket wireless root question

Hi guys, let me start with I'm not entirely new to rooting or roms ( currently have a virgin mobile op v rooted and running harmonia2 ). I am new however to flashed phones, I today went and had an evo 4g that I had acquired flashed from sprint to cricket wireless and now I'm curious as to do I root it the same way as explained in this forum or is there some differences I should know about and the same question applies to flashing roms.

*Oh, I thought the phone would be rooted to flash it over from sprint but I used root check and it says that it isnt and theres no SU installed either

You should be able to root it and flash any ROM without problems. They dont touch your radios so you should be fine. The only issue I've heard of is getting MMS to work with some ROMS/carriers.

this is kind of what ive gathered, just looking for comfirmation of somesort and hoping if there was any warnings someone would speak up
