Evo on sale at Virgin for $239.99

You can try Radio Shack, they or Best Buy are usually pretty good at price matching.
Bestbuy is only supposed to price match if it's being sold in brick and mortar store. That said, I once was able to get a price match on a Virgin phone because the Virgin website listed store locations. Afterwards I discovered those locations were actually drug stores that sold top-up cards. ;)

i wish i could get the price match at radio shack but i already know if they dont see a newspaper ad or circular they wont do it

Haven't looked but I'm really hoping its not the 3d because that's CRAZY expensive for how old the phone itself is even though its somewhat new for vm

Name another 4" dual-core phone for cheaper outright? That's a pretty decent deal. T-Mobile had the Blaze on sale for $250 ($300 plus a $50 refill card thrown in), and that seemed pretty screaming to me. $240 for the Evo V, if you are interested in the phone/carrier, seems like a nice deal.

Just got it today best buy price matched it for me I have pics if you don't believe me 1 od thing was when I got a warranty they charge me for the 250 to 300 dollar warranty instead of the 200 250 was 239 and warranty was 39 one year anyone else had that happen

i would love to see pics if you have them. i also want to purchase from bestbuy for warranty.

Whats so good about the best buy warranty???

It is that it is a replacement warranty with no deductible. You merely walk into Best Buy with your broken phone (it covers accidental damage, such as cracked screen) and walk out with a brand new phone. If you pay anything, it will be for another warranty covering your new phone. They also let you change phones, you merely pay the price difference between your old phone and the phone you want to upgrade to.

Hey gang, been lurkin around the virgin forums here since the triumph was announced. I ordered the evo through virgin on Tuesday and got it this morning. It is the Sprint branded phone. It was 256.80 with taxes. I haven't activated it yet so I can't address the radio issues. But it is fast on wifi.

why did they reduce the price ? are they trying to get rid of current stock ? what do you guys think. is there an ulterior motive for them reducing the price ?

Actually, after seeing this thread today, I'm wondering if it has something to do with the Samsung big announcement. Seems like they might want to reduce the on hand stock of the Evo V before announcing a new "high end" (high end for VM) Samsung phone. I'm sure the Galaxy SII would sell well on VM, particularly if they upgraded the OS to ICS or Jellybean.

I feel the same way if it's the gsII or the note I might send this back or see if I can upgrade by paying the difference.

I saw that earlier today. I've been holding off buying the Evo, so now I am going to wait at least until the Samsung announcement. Whatever phone or phones are announced I hope they are 4G. I don't want to give up my $25 plan, and still have 3G.

Just picked up the Evo V for $217.49.

Used a combination of Ebates.com and the sale price on the Virgin site.

$22.50 rebate already received 2 hours after ordering.

Nice, I thought that I did well, got for $280 with the original RS pre order and then ended up with 2nd day air cost being refunded

Wouldn't surprise me if VM was trying to clear out and liquidate the thousands of units they received back from Best Buy and Radio Shack due to all of the "quirks". Someone has to take the eventual loss... and it's not going to be VM.

Either that or Sprint had a literal "boatload" of these things lying around for obvious reasons and VM got them for pennies on the dollar.

And a whole thing about the new phones coming out there's always gonna be a new phone coming out it's just if you could be happy with the phone you have for least a little while 3 d on phone it is really fun hands down really fun take videos put them on youtube and share just get some of those cheap green and blue glasses to your relatives

I wouldn't be surprised if the continuous sales with the EVO 4G ($239.99 through VM Direct, and now, The In store Radio Shack sale of $279.99 valid through 8/18/12) has something to do with the "Big News" on the 22nd. If it is indeed a new "High End" phone that they anticipate a lot of people will want, It makes complete sense to have multi week sales on the EVO to clear out Overstock.

This is pure speculation.

I feel they did it because Metro's similar offering, the LG Connect 4G, dropped from 350 to 250 after rebate, to compete with the V, so Virgin retaliated with its own better price.

Call best buy, there customer service #. They price matched, and gave me in store pick up. Itws a sweet deal, for those who cannot wait for it to come in the mail. Picked mine up sunday, after I pretty much bricked my triumph.
