Root Evo Port Test ROMs | Droid Incredible

hey guys, just a heads up, when Adryanlyne release's this ROM, either just before after after its beta stages, it will have a custom look to it, we are working on something cool :) no previews but will be based around the Frankenstein colors we think :)

We shall see, when its released fully. Just thought i'd let people know, if they have any ideas feel free to post them, and we well review and see which we think might work :)...

Thanks

I think it would look awesome if it was kind of a steampunk/frankenstein hybrid. Very fitting for a Dr. Frankenstein's laboratory. Use pale green for the highlights, and steampunkish icons. There are a few out there. The icons from Manup's "More Vintage, Less War" theme on XDA would look really good. That or the "Rusty Metal" icons, also on XDA. Anything kind of antique/steampunk-ish.

And it definitely needs to be dark. Perhaps even a bit on the goth side.

Thanks for this port, Adrynalyne! I ran Second Wave for a few days, and despite having zero issues (in fact, it was the smoothest ROM I ran on the Incredible up til that point), I really wanted to give FrankenROM a shot. Like others have said, it just, /feels/ smoother. I can't point at a Quadrant or Linpack score to really justify my feelings (although those seem plenty high, I barely run them so I don't have anything to compare them too)-- like Adryn himself said, it could just be a placebo-- but I really feel like this just runs faster and more efficiently than the standard Incredible ROMs. I don't know if the 2.2 for the Evo was just in a more polished state or what, along with any tweaks Adryn made, but it runs great. The six bars (along with the round battery symbol) give me a little feeling of uniqueness amongst my peers. I imagine I'll be sticking with this until a stable source-built lands on the Incredible, or Adrynalyn finds another project to play with. Can't wait until the updates start hitting ROM Manager!

I am running Second Wave right now and like it alot, but this ROM sounds rather tempting. So basically it just seems like people are saying that this ROM has a better feel, but there is nothing more quantitative than that? Hmmm, I am wondering if it is worth switching....?

How will you ever know if the ROM you are using is any good if you don't try others to verify ?

;););)

Not trying to be a dick but please nothing steampunk/rusty metal ish. It's just not good looking.

Finally installed my first ROM today. I've been rooted for awhile and finally bit the bullet to install this rom. WOW! loving it. 1 Question, I've been running launcher pro and after the update I have a little smiley face popping up in the notification bar. When I open handcent and read the message the smiley stays in the notification until I force clear it. Any ideas on how to remedy this?

Nick

I would like to have the themes as an option. Maybe not everyone will like it. Then again I haven't seen what they are cooking up, so who knows. :)

Go in to the Stock messenger app and turn off notifications again :)

havent done the beta yet. it just sucks to start all over after a wipe. but you can keep my 10 bucks. i just feel that people deserve reward for their work. i appreciate it.

ill prolly do it soon though cuz i love new stuff. so what if i have to download my soundboards again lol

Anyone running Handcent?

I keep getting FCs every time I try to send a message.

That's about the only thing I have a problem with...oh, and my SMS keeps resending to people. The next day, they'll get all the SMS I sent them the day before, all at once.

Do I need to do the APN fix? Any ideas?

I had the same problem with B2 - went back to B1 with patches and had much better results.

I'm enjoying FrankenROM myself right now, but at this point, it might be worth waiting until 1.0 hits the airwaves if you aren't experiencing any issues with your current setup.

As far as Handcent issues, I can say that I'm not experiencing anything similar myself while using Handcent exclusively. I'm not running the senseless version, however. Swype actually shut down completely on me, and the Installer isn't recognizing my login (despite logging in directly to the webpage) but I'm guessing that's their issues, and not the ROM's.
