I can't vouch for the senseless version, but it def. is in the Sense version.
Did you install any mods, like, themes, etc?
If so, that may be the cause. Anything that replaces framework-res.apk, also replaces the apn list, which tells the mms app which server its supposed to be using to send messages. What I did was decompile the framework-res.apk, replaced the Sprint apn xml file with a verizon one,l and then verified it worked.
If you are installing B2 as an upgraded over B1 without wiping data, that too could be the reason.
