Root Evo Port Test ROMs | Droid Incredible

Doesn't sound like such a bad way to spend a weekend :-)

I am really enjoying your Senseless version of this ROM, but noticed that live wallpapers were not supported (not a deal killer, but every now and then I like to put a little bling on the phone). Would it be possible to implement this feature?

Thanks!

Let me see what i can do about making a patch for live wallpapers. might be tonight, uploading the b2 version now

Thanks for taking the time to educate me sir. Since these are simply deployment options that means they've all been fully tested, so the decision to include/exclude them becomes an arbitrary business decision about which options will get their phones approved on the most networks and not cripple it so much that nobody wants one.

ie. HTC/Samsung are not manually tweaking the libraries, this is part of Google's build script, therefore nothing should break.

But its not Sense thats the issue. Samsung doesn't work either.

...I think you should take a look at some vendor setups on aosp, so that you understand what I mean.

Android gets coded in a specific way, according to the vendor setup. It happens to be tailored by HTC, Samsung, etc. and is different for each device. AFAIK, you cannot compile Android without a vendor setup, even if its a default one.

The one I'm currently using is the next to last in YoJoe600's post here, smooth-sense-1.0-white-battery-text-transparent-_nolock.zip. I got it mainly for the battery, and the removal of the location icon, the transparent part I could care less about. I do believe it's based on that from xda though (may be the same thing, but I got it from here).

I am using the round battery one with percentages and its working just fine. I have mms with no problems.

I am using the same one except I changed out the pics to the smooth battery with white lettering ones. I like them a little better. I kept hearing about problems with the smooth sense working with this Rom so I just borrowed the pics.

You do not want to wait longer? Become Premium User now. Or I will break you.

Sorry, just had to add that in there. These free download places are starting to get to me.

if you quote people will know what you are talking about

Nope, didn't help, I still don't know what I'm talking about.

Don't mind me, I didn't sleep last night and have a major headache so just trying to add a little laugh here and there.

But since you obviously didn't get it, "You do not want to wait longer? Become Premium User now," is what it said on the download link for senseless b2

I can't get the hotspot to work for me. It keeps force closing. Sorry I didn't read the previous 13 pages but anyone find a solution for this?

5 hours running v2 and so far very fat, very smooth
great work on this adrynalyne, was running second wave, then tried jagerrom-too much going on too buggy, tried skyraider-was ok too many stock apps and when I adbshell and mv them phone gets all weird on me with diff things.
was coming back to your second wave today when I seen this new ver2 evo port
and will say I likey so far alot
cool camera app too, all seems to be working for me, gps,etc
look forward to seeing more improvments and roms from you.

was wondering if any themes work with this rom? when i tried skyraider with the blue theme it looked really cool for me

I've been using B2 since yestersday, no problems yet. Previously I was using B1, the only issue I had was the debugging icon showed up while car charging. It didn't seem to cause any problems however. Great work! Have a brew on me!! Keep up the great work and the updates.

But its not Sense thats the issue. Samsung doesn't work either.

True vanilla on these devices comes in the flavor of Cyanogenmod. That means its been tweaked for extra functionality. Was it added? Maybe, I'm not interested enough to comb through github to find out.

It works on the Droid too, but guess what? The Moto Droid also supports aac encoder for the camcorder. Incredible doesnt. Thats not a design flaw of Google, thats a design decision by HTC.

Don't let HTC pull the wool over your eyes. Each manufacturer has their own vendor setup, and its not like they are hacking the framework to death, or anything like that. They have a certain vendor setup that they use that automatically sets options that they do, or do not want in their roms.

While I understand you may be a software developer Valka, I think you should take a look at some vendor setups on aosp, so that you understand what I mean.

A lot of the options are easy to toggle on and off, there isn't a lot of reverse engineering needed most times. Point in case, I compiled a Moto Droid rom that had BT voice dialing in 2.1 Eclair.

BT voice dialing. It was as simple as setting a true, to false.

I wouln't be surprised if BT HID support wasn't a simple enable/disable option that by default is disabled. Being that its a phone, a lot of manufacturers are probably overlooking it as unneeded.

Alright, maybe I might pass the time with a bit of digging around source code for the next few days. I'm just curious now.

Edit -- Okay, so I had no idea really where to find the source, so I went to HTC's dev center. Any idea why they have two versions of the BlueZ source? One for "Froyo MR" the other for I guess normal DInc?

Wonder what MR is...

Anyway I just installed B2. I'm not seeing too many differences from Jager 2.2 except the one that really matters to me; HTC Clock is G-O-N-E. I do have one interesting issue. I loathe to admit this but the stock Gallery doesn't show all my images and HTC Gallery does. I didn't identify all the missing images but one was definitely a jpeg. And that's the one I set as my background using HTC Gallery (there were two set as background options. First one gave a FC, second one worked).

I really like the look of the Google Gallery but the HTC one is more stable for some reason.

Oh and I'm getting linpack's up to about 38 at best and quadrant's between X and N1.

the gallery issue was mentioned before in another thread. The stock gallery does not read images from the phone memory.

when posting please tell us if you are running sense or senseless version, need to know so we can do our bug fixes. If you are running the senseless version, my goal was to remove as much htc as possible and i happen to like the deskclock.

On a side note i should have an update for live wallpapers here in a minute testing it now.
