boot screen as in the splash screen or the actual boot screen where android has already started to load (presumably a bootloop if that's the case). Did you make a nandroid backup, first? If you have a backup, just restore it.

EDIT: That's assuming you can get to recovery, but I don't see how this would have screwed things up that bad. Turn the phone off, then turn it back on while pressing and holding volume down to get to hboot. Boot to recovery from there.

All I get is the "htc evo 4g" screen. I did not back it up but also amnot worried with losing anything so long as my phone works.

Ok, that's the splash screen. Were you able to get into recovery? Are you running a custom rom or stock?

Stock. Apparently I am missing PC36DIAG.zip?

What rooting method did you use? Are you seeing an error message of some sort? Were you ever able to get to recovery?

As for why it didn't work - you need a deodexed rom, I believe, which the stock rom is not. I haven't installed the gingerbread keyboard, myself, but I looked up a few links, and that's what everyone is saying.

Ok, so you can get into recovery, which is good. You never made a nandroid backup, though? Did you make any kind of backup at all, like with titanium? And no, reformatting the card won't help.

Yup. No dice.

Yeah, I think you need a deodexed rom to use the gingerbread keyboard. This is the kind of thing that happens when you apply and update like that to a stock rom. Without a backup, it may be difficult to get your data back.

No back ups. I know, but again as long as my phone works I am okay with losing everything.

Ok, well, the fact that you can get to recovery means you can get your phone in working order in a few minutes, but without a backup, I can't guarantee there is a way to save data. Typically, when flashing roms, you want to start with a clean slate by wiping data, cache, and dalvik cache. But, if you flash a rom close enough to stock, you might be able to get away with wiping only cache and dalvik cache, but not data.

Here is a list of all available roms:

You can find a complete guide on flashing roms here:

Here's a link to the most recent ota, but rooted:
New_RUU_Supersonic_3.30.651.3_Odexed & Deodexed_Stock_11-15-2010 - xda-developers

It's probably not what you had before (the fact that you used unrevoked leads me to believe you had the previous OTA), but it might not matter.\

EDIT: Oh, and before you mess with any of this, just for kicks, in recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache, then reboot. I don't think that will help, but it helps to be thorough.

Just so you know, you can mount your phone to your computer in recovery, so you can just drop the new rom on the sd card and then unmount.

Alright so I wiped everything and tried to restore and I am still getting the same results.

It sounds like your current rom is jacked.. you need to either reflash the current rom or a different rom. Do you happen to have any rom zips on your sd card? If not no biggie. Download whatever rom of your liking , once you do that connect your phone to the CPU and mount through recovery. Put the new rom on the sd card , eject and unmount. Then flash the new rom. Remember wipe data, cache and dalvik prior to flashing. Once you get a working rom make a nandroid.

And on a side note, I always keep a stock rooted rom on my sd card just incase something like this ever happens.
