EVo unresponsive screen (phone must be held)

I have this issue also, its the first thing I tried when I got it on launch day. I wasn't going to return it because it didn't bother as much. I also have the lifting of the screen by the left corner where the home icon is located. Seeing as some of you have good working Evo's I might exchange mine before my 30 days.

Try this screen test with your EVO and report back - Page 8 - PPCGeeks

See post #78. This is part and parcel of the technology used. Everyone cool down.

If you're not experiencing the issue, then you just are in a better environment for the technology used in the screen. You don't have some kind of superior device that is defect free.

I don't think anyone thought or indicated that they have a superior device that is defect free. I think what myself and others indicate is that we do not have these problems indicated on this board.. so some of us have good phones that (for now) are not showing defectiveness.

on a potentially related subject...today i bought an additional wall charger at a cell phone store, when i was using the phone while it was plugged in, the touch screen acted quite erratically. There must be something to do with the charge. It appears that i will only be able to use this for charging purposes but not the end of the world but it certainly appears that something is wrong here

See, this isn't so much of a defect as it is a product of the environment where you're using the phone.

I did the test and my phone does that some what, but I didn't buy my phone to play with the draw app. My notification doesn't want to slide down sometimes while on its back but not all the time. I'm not bothered with it since I don't use my phone in the laying position to look at notifications anyways. Nothing else is with my phone and I love it. Just seems to me Engadget is taking on a few reports they see online and making a story out of it.

Yet another Evo issue that I don't have with my phone. I must be one of the lucky ones not to have any of these problems.

i'm with you. tried it while sitting on my desk. unlocked it and pulled the notification bar right down.

Anyone notice that flipping the phone from portrait to landscape and vice versa is lagging? On mine, it seems to not register the transition at all. Sometimes it's instant and other times it just gets stuck, noticeably more evident when the cpu is stressed :/ So much for the 1ghz snapdragon processor.

nope. mine is so snappy and accurate that with a slight tilt it jumps from portrait to landscape and vice versa with the quickness. i'd even go as far as saying it rotates quicker than my old iPhone 3GS

is there a way to adjust responsiveness? not being silly - I think mine is too sensitive and just didn't know if there was a way to adjust it..

Mine is also fine. I wonder if screen protectors have any bearing on this issue. I know some report they have the issue and do not have a protector on it. I am just wondering if it contributes to those that do.

Please don't come to the consensus that it is everyone's phone. If some have this issue, they should simply exchange it. I will wager that many of us do not have any problems at all. Mine has had no light leaks or issues.

I also want to point out that HTC manufactures their phones in the same factory that the iPhone is built.

I dont seem to have this problem either with my launch day evo. You know out of all the units out there, there is bound to be a few bad apples. Its just inevitable really in my opinion. I also tested this out with a few friends at work that also have the evo and none of them have the issue either.

i can't grab my notification bar either without holding it, but it doesn't draw the lines like in the video.

sprint will fix this if i take it to them?

My phone doesn't have this issue either;)

I have the bodyglove case on it, but I havent tested it without a case, but I dont feel the need to since I have the case on it and it works perfectly fine!

I think it may be a batch problem. I have this issue, and I have the screen separation issue (possibly related?). Then again, I try not to whine; if it starts to bother me enough, I'll take it back to Sprint. I've had far, far, far worse issues with first run phones in this past. I consider these to be minor problems.
