I was running the swype beta keyboard you get from the swype installer and updated my phone to the newest software (released dec 15, the new evo update I don't really feel like looking up the number). As soon as it restarted I was getting the stop force close messages about swype, non stop, so I power cycled the phone, same thing.
I then deleted swype and tried reload it using the installer, but was given the message that since it came with the newest software in the phone I was unable to download it.
I was pretty upset until I found the fix on the swype website. You just have to power cycle the phone again and swype will appear as an option in the input select window.
So: delete swype beta before you download the newest update for the evo. If you don't ahead of time then just uninstall swype (settings, applications , etc) then power reset the phone and you should be all good.
