Root Evo V Radio Interference OTA Coming

Ok, so this conversation was already being carried out in non-root section, but for the sake of saving people and hosting a place to figure this out I thought it would be good to mention that if you are using a custom ROM, you are not going to want to update without some people doing some testing first.

Also, I'm curious if that only applies to people on custom roms. I'm running the stock ROM and I have s-off as well as unlocked bootloader. Would that affect taking an OTA in theory? I say that because I do not believe the Evo has gotten a software update as of yet.

If you have a custom recovery then you generally don't take any ota's. Been known to just fail like the intercept or worse.

I know we'll have to wait until it's released to be able to know for sure, but I'm wondering how well this will fix the bug, and if it will fix the jumpy signal as well. Would it be worth updating to? Since I went s-off and changed my radio, my -120 signal issue has almost completely gone away. But I do notice that I still miss some calls completely, while others take a long time to get my phone ringing.

In case this fix did offer an even greater improvement from what we already have, what would we (those who have rooted, s-off, sprint radio phones) have to do in order to be able to use the OTA? Go back to stock unroot? Or go back to the old radio, and then somehow flash the OTA?
