Help Evo wont load on my computer

Im tryign to root my evo but when i plug my phone in to the usb and open device manager it says it needs to install drivers but it can not find the drivers it needs. android 1.0 is what its saying it cant find. Please help!!
 
OK, telling us what kind of computer you have is REALLY necessary to help us with this problem...

Also, what root method are you using? Did you previously install HTC Sync? Did you download the hboot drivers?
