Help evo wont turn on

please help. this is the second time this has happened. i had my charger connected for the night. when i woke up the phone was shut down. no green or red indicator light. it wouldnt turn on at all. the first time it happened, i took out the battery for a while and when i put it back in, i got a flashing red light and after a bit it turned back on. today however, that has not helped. im at my witts end here. i also have a loose charger port, but make sure that the red indicator light is on or i have to move it. right now the phone is flashing red (indicator) for a few seconds then stops. it will repeat this. i really need help with this.

Welcome to the forums!
Quite possibly a bad battery. How old is the battery.
I know you said you had a loose port but, if the phone has and red indicator on it means battery is dead.
Do you have a means to charge battery outside of phone to verify a bad battery?
I would try to get battery up to charge or pick up a new one if yours is over a year old.:)
Like you said about the port, could be that it will not charge anymore or try a different charger.

ty. ok but i have been able to get it to the reboot screen twice and then when i tell it to recover it just shuts back down? i dont understand what is going on. i will have to take it to the sprint store i guess and, yes, quite possibly may need a new battery since it is the original one and have had it over a year.
