EVO's Buttons

Is anyone elses Evo buttons kinda hard to press or do you have to press them in certain areas? And they dont feel as tactile as i would have excpected is anyone elses like this? Im wondering if its a back plate issue seeing as the buttons are attached to the back plate.

Some people have extremely easy to use buttons, others the exact opposite. Manufacturing tolerances would be my guess. You could always try another back cover and see if it corrects the issue.

Mine react almost too quickly. It feels like mine are ten times more sensitive than any of the ones I had on my previous Androids.

I am not complaining. It's actually kind of nice for me at least...

Yea i have a feeling its a back plate issue i like a more tactile feel and these arent to much like that and with a case on its even harder... So i ordered another new Back plate for 7 bucks and i have another case coming to see if that helps.

I have no button troubles with my Evo V and I have it in a $5 TPU case off Amazon as well. All the buttons are smooth and work when pressed but like Overbyter mentioned, probably manufacture tolerance.

I would have just explained the issue to virgin and had them replace it under warranty, although with the current shortage that may take awhile. P. S. Mine work perfectly.

The phone works great and i dont want to have to replace and redownload everything so i did contact them and they said they would send me a back plate when they get them instock so ill have an extra. Plus i bought it from Radio shack.

The buttons are simply tabs that press down the hard button on the phone.

Since they are just on the case you can adjust them a bit.

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.......... Everything below is about modding the rear cover, not the phone itself. Do not mess with the buttons on your phone.

If they feel a bit too flat you can mix a tiny bit of epoxy and dab it on the stem that makes contact with the button. We are talking an amount the size of the ball in a ballpoint pen. Apply it flat (don't let it dry rounded, flatten it out) and then try it again after letting it dry (2-part epoxy dries in a few minutes). If it is too much you can take a razor and trim it down.

On the flip side, if the button sticks up too far and is too sensitive you can shave the post down with a razor.

BE CAREFUL, one slip will mess up the cover. Just putting this out there so people may have an alternative to try before ordering a new cover.
