EVP Delivery Dates

Just to give you the heads up, here's a link detailing Saturday delivery for various UPS services.

According to the Sprint site, if this is in fact the same for EVP, even the 2 day option offers Saturday delivery as all 2 day options have Saturday delivery.

I'm just wondering when will they ship? If it is Thursday, then a lot of people who chose ground will get them Friday. A lot of people don't know but if your in a certain radius of the shipment location ground is essentially next day. If you go here and enter 40219 for the Louisville origin, you can see the time for delivery.

I live in Louisville so I chose ground but I'm wondering if I should upgrade to 2-day for the Saturday delivery. However, I believe there's still a chance, even if it ships on Friday, for those within the local delivery area to receive it Friday based on the way the phones enter the system. I think they are directly routed to the local sort facility, but I'm not 100% positive. Of course that only applies to a limited few, but I know there's a least another person here that in the area.

UPS, oh god, I hate UPS, they always never knock on the door and just leave a slip saying they tried to deliver and take the stuff back. (Even though Someone is home always).

I used EVP for 2xEVOs on plan upgrades (kept my ED450+22% discount, plus $10 evo fee) - no word here on when, but I also didn't discuss shipping with the rep on the phone when I ordered last Friday.

Now you guys got me thinking I need to call back in the morning to make sure it's shipped as fast as possible. It would suck to get a tracking number late Thursday for Monday delivery!!

Major table tennis going on... lol I agree, with your UPS statement. No offense to UPS workers on this forum. But I've experienced the same thing. In fact I was waiting for the UPS guy to come and I saw his shadow in the window. I opened the door to get my package, and as I was opening the door, he was about to put a door hanger on my doorknob saying he was there.

But he didn't even knock or ring the doorbell...!!!!! lol
 
Thanks TS and Nuprotocol - I forgot they were shipping it via UPS. Now I have to remember to wait by the door. I've also experienced the "1st attempt at delivery" note crap. Pretty annoying
 
Well if there is a warehouse where I live then they won't have to ship it overnight they can ship it straight to my house. So I know I'll get it Friday if UPS comes before I go to work. I need to go to the Sprint store and transfer my contacts back so I guess I'll activate it there. I sold my TP2 and my contacts are now on my LG Lotus. But I would love to have an email in the am saying the phone is in and ready to ship.

But seriously, being able to have it delivered to your door is priceless and not dealing with the crazy retail crap will be great. I do plan to drive by a few stores to see the craziness though.. lol

Seriously, I would call UPS, even the national number, explain that you were home and the driver didn't give you enough time to get to the door. They' re-attempt the deliver. I've called to coordinate a time for delivery if I'm only going to be home part of the day. I usually offer to meet the driver at an already scheduled delivery. I've never needed to do this but I definitely would. Now Fedex, that's another story. The real problem is UPS requires one delivery attempt before they will hold the package to be picked up.
 
glad I don't have to go through this lol but I will say - my UPS driver ROCKS.. he has been our driver for 4 years and knows us pretty well so he just leaves my stuff on the porch for me - it is enclosed lol He knows I would hurt him if I was expecting something like this and he took it from me lol
 
Just be thankful that it's not being shipped DHL!! (Drop it. Hide it. Lose it.)
 
A few people on PPCGeeks & AndroidCentral are reporting that their EVP Reps told them the phones won't be shipped until Friday..Anybody have confirmation on this? I'm still holding hope out that I'll get a shipment notification today/tomorrow..

I just called and they said they will ship either Thursday or Friday, so I caved and upgraded to overnight. That way I'm guaranteed a Saturday delivery. Besides, my wife's phone is unreliable at this point and she keeps asking about the new phones.

There's only a $2 difference between 2-day and overnight so I figure this makes the latest delivery Saturday. I also considered that if they ship Friday, even with a Saturday delivery option on the 2-day service, UPS is only obligated to get it here by Monday so they make a decision to not even attempt it on Saturday.
 
I just got off of the phone with my rep and she said she doesn't expect the phones in until Thursday so they probably won't ship out until Friday :mad:
 
Andrew's email made it seem like the day they come in is when they will be shipped. Hopefully they come in tomorrow early...if not sooner!!

Just speculating, but I think it may be a question of what time they enter the system and how long the order fulfillment takes in terms of sending the info to UPS. If they make a certain cutoff they are considered as shipping Thursday. Otherwise it's Friday.
 
I just called and got the same information: Phones are not yet in inventory, probably won't be until Friday, and they're not planning on charging my credit card until they actually have the phones in inventory. Which explains why I do not yet have an email receipt.
 
I ordered from EVP on the 13th and so far I've only gotten the original order confirmation email and a call from a rep asking for details on payment and area code.

Do they have a place where I can check the status of my order? I've heard nothing from them. Even a status saying "we haven't shipped anything" would be nice.

Makes me wish I would have kept my Best Buy preorder though since I was the first one and would have had the phone at 8 am on Friday, looks like I gambled and lost.
 
HAHAHHAA, talk about getting excited for nothing. So my wife who is home pregnant on bed rest just called and asked did I order something because they just left a package at the front door. So im thinking.......The EVO is all i ordered so of course my heart starts to beat really fast, but since she's on bed rest she can't go see what it is. So she says well im gonna go check it out anyway, and low and behold its just some medicine that the doctor had delivered to her. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

kinda makes me regret not going with my gut feeling and putting in that preorder for best buy. here's hoping to it actually showing up on saturday with overnight shipping.

I think he meant that he wanted to preorder at BB to ensure he had a phone in-hand early Friday morning. An EVP discount can always be added to your plan later.
