Help excessive battery drain today. all from android os. wtf??!!

I just noticed my phone is already at 50% battery and I haven't really done anything with it yet today. Looking in the battery menu I see that I unplugged it about 5.5 hours ago and android os has used 90% of that 50%. Usually the culprit is display but not this time. What the heck is the os doing to kill half my battery in less than 6 hours?

Could you try restarting your phone once? Hopefully that will resolve this issue.
(no, I don't know why it is happening in the first place, but with the S4 that I had, I have experienced the same issue a couple of times, and a reboot fixed it)
