Exchange Activesync

Lurker
Ive recently got a Note2, running 4.1.1

This morning, my exchange account stopped syncing, I've rebooted the phone and the email server, but nothing seems to make a difference

If I go into the exchange settings, and update my password, it says 'unable to connect to server'

I'm connected to the same wifi as a galaxy tab2 running the same version of android, and that's syncing fine

Is there any way I can get logs from the phone?

I noticed this happening on my phone this morning. My IT guy is checking my exchange account, just to be sure, but I'm in the process of backing everything up, just to be safe (in case I have to hard reset).

Did you try deleting the account and adding it again to see if it works?

Yup. Already tried that. My IT guy came down and even entered in a bunch of other things, just to try getting it working again.

One thing I did notice is that the secure pin is still on the phone. I have a feeling I may end up needing to hard reset the phone, which I don't mind since I already backed everything up.

I may finally make it a point to root the phone, prior to loading everything up. I just need to make sure I am completely comfortable un-rooting and coming back to the stock ROM before I do that.

Also need to reset the flash counter for warranty purposes if you revert back. Which from my understanding is not too complex.

Thanks, NG. I'll keep that in mind for future reference. Has anybody come up with a thread on how that process would work to reset the flash counter?

My IT guy is the ISH. He's on top of it and found out that the exchange server for active sync is different (possibly an Android thing or Samsung specifically), so I'm all back and running fine without needing a hard reset (thankfully). I was telling him that it might be a change that was made with the most recent update for Jelly Bean, so he noted it for anybody else with Android phones that are connected via Exchange Active Sync.

Things like this are really pushing me towards rooting my phone, just so that I have complete backups of the internal storage (I just noticed that, copying over my internal storage only accounts for 900mb of info, so the remaining 7gb that's currently being used would only be accessible for backup, if I were rooted).
