I am having a problem with being able to remote wipe data on one of our phones using Exchange and Outlook Web Access (OWA).
On this case, we have 2 Android phones:
LG Optimus M (MetroPCS) 2.2
LG Optimus V (Virgin Mobile) 2.2
With the Optimus M, I have no problems. I can add the Hosted Exchange Email account. It asks me for all the information: email address, password, and server. I check both use SSL and accept all Security Certificates. Soon after that, something that is desired, happens, I get a pop up asking:
Remote security administration
The server [serve address] requires that you allow it to remotely control some security features of your phone. Do you wish to finish setting up this account? OK and CANCEL.
I will OK, then verify the optional name, and I then get another pop op asking me if I would allow this Email to become a Device Administrator, I accept. When I go to Setting>Location and Security>Select device administrators, I see Email listed and green checked.
I tried doing a Remote Wipe through Outlook Web Access and it worked marvelously within minutes. It wiped all data
