I recently switched back to verizon from at&t due to no coverage in my area with at&t. I have been through so many smartphones and had already done the iphone thing and know now android is the system I prefer.
The local reps at my verizon store really pushed the thunderbolt. Having had an inspire 4g from att and having no problems with the phone and loving htc, I gave it a look. Before deciding, I did some research and found a host of bad reviews, comments and issues with the tb. Every sales rep in the store STILL pushed the tb and almost rolled their eyes at the charge.
I had the tb for 10 days and while it is a nice phone, there are a lot of problems. First, battery - the phone might as well not even have a battery. The inspire was far better on battery life. The reboots and lag were annoying. I also really think my inspire had faster data speeds than the tb and that seems really weird.
I just exchanged my tb for the charge yesterday and am so happy! The battery far exceeds the tb. The screen is beautiful - really no comparison other than the iphone. I am a first time touch wiz user, but it seems ok to me. I know I can also install other launchers. The charge just seems to have more features than the thunderbolt and it is so nice not to have a heavy brick in my hand. The call and sound quality is excellent. I do notice some lag and figure this is probably due to the lower internal memory on the phone. The update prompted as soon as the phone was turned on and web browsing is great. 4G is coming to my are at the end of the summer and I am looking forward to seeing what the phone delivers then.
Overall, I really like the phone! There are give and takes with every phone, but this one overall is the best verizon has right now - in my opinion. I am also impressed with Samsung and Verizon for sending out such a quick update to enhace and fix the phone. Hope that keeps up.
