Exhanging TB re: Power Button

So the power button on my Thunderbolt is starting to sink, its gotten to the point where if I don't press hard on the top left portion of the button my phone won't wake up, so I'm returning it to the VZW store tomorrow.

My question is this. When I take it into the store can they transfer all of my apps, settings, etc. to my new phone? I know I could easily get AppBrain or a similar program to transfer apps, but my real concern is the app EasyMoney. When you buy the full version you get an activation key and 2 replacement keys. Because of rooting my old phone and upgrading to the TB I have used my replacement keys, I'm hoping they can transfer all the apps over without wiping the data out of them, therefore I wouldn't need to buy another replacement key.

Anybody have any insight/experience with this? Rooting it and backing up with titanium is out of the question because that would wipe my data and I'd need to get another replacement key anyway.

All your apps are stored under your Google account you sign in when you first activate. I think the replacement keys are for in case you lose your activation key. I never heard of a one time use key. No they cant transfer apps. Thats the whole point of having it under your google account.

They cant transfer settings. You are going to have to set up your phone all over again.

This may be a place to write about my experience with this....
Last week my assumed 4G outage was actually my bolt losing it's LTE capability... it just quit.
They shipped me another one which I got today.

The power button is sunk into the phone :(

I called them and they are sending me yet another bolt....
However.. this new one is working on LTE, unlike my old one.

Anyone think I will get a repeat of this?
I really hope not.

Trust me, it's not. I am pretty sure the OP does not appreciate threadjacking.

To the OP, email them and ask. Explain what happened. If they cannot look up your purchase via email, then they have serious record keeping problems. If you are polite and willing to argue your case calmly, I really cannot see them saying no. Especially for something there is a clear record of (I assume). If you bought it like you would a copy of Windows 7 (i.e. MSFT has no record of who the heck you are), then I can understand their unwillingness to not give you more codes.

This is actually related... I'm my case google sync only worked with paid apps. Nothing else appeared under my apps when I switched to the tbolt last week, took a long time to get every free app again...

in other news the power button is almost flush with the phone in a week... I don't anticipate spontaneous recovery so I'm in the same boat..

Is this standard for google sync to only do paid apps or did I fubar the op somehow I guess is my question? and if so is appbrain or the like the answer?

I also got a new TB because of the power button sticking.

If it's not too late, make sure you keep your SD card in case you have other downloads like pdfs or whatever. Google doesn't keep track of that stuff.
